What do children learn and gain?

ROBOTICS & ENGINEERING

The Robotics & Engineering program is designed to help kids gradually develop programming skills from basic to advanced. It combines hands-on learning with play.

During the program, kids will build functional ENGINO models, conduct experiments to learn through practical experience, and then create and program their own devices and robots.

The Makerspace program aims to inspire children to shift away from pre-made systems and instead encourages them to design and create their own open-ended constructions.

Children will learn to work with wood and plastic, operate 3D printers and laser cutters, and use advanced design software and DIY electronics to turn their ideas into tangible masterpieces.

What activities do children engage in throughout the year?

Children can explore various STEM topics and seek solutions to everyday problems using pre-made Engino models

Assembling Engino models

Programming

Advanced programming concepts and primary block-based coding. This empowers children to direct their robot's movements

Hands-on learning

Traditional tools and gaining practical experience in 3D printing and laser cutting provide hands-on learning with modern technology

Open project

Kids brainstorm and design their solution, test it, evaluate it, modify it, and present it to their peers and community

Free Introductory Workshop

Every child should have the chance to pursue their passions, especially as most careers are now closely tied to innovation, technology, and engineering.

We are excited to invite young researchers to participate in a complimentary trial introductory workshop on robotics and engineering. Here's what the trial workshop includes:

  • 30-minute free session

  • Based on the curriculum of our regular workshop

  • Unique materials and a set of tools

  • Introduction to a STEM coach and groupmates

  • Overview of the STEM Center facilities

Workshops program according to age group

Robotics & Engineering for 4-6 years

"Junior Engineers" is a two-year Robotics & Engineering program for children aged 4 to 6. It aims to develop their cognitive abilities and promote progress in areas such as language, memory, problem-solving, and social cognition. This prepares children for the challenges of formal education and more complex social environments.

• Junior learners build models using Engino Qboidz following instructions on our KidCAD™ 3D Viewer app, aligning with the STEM theme. • Moreover, they gain insight into scientific phenomena, such as the functionality of solar panels, by integrating solar panels and motors into their models, thereby animating them and grasping the fundamental principles at play. • Manual programming challenges, starting with single outputs, such as motor programming, and progressing to dual outputs, such as LEDs, to allow the creation of manual programming sequences. • The programming journey ends with FACEBOT, a ready-to-program robot that familiarizes children with advanced programming concepts and block-based coding for directional commands, empowering them to direct their robot's movements. • An Open Project where kids apply their knowledge to solve a problem using the design engineering approach. They research solutions, design and test their ideas, make modifications, and present their final solution to peers and the community.
